CafeChat is strictly for people aged 18 and over. Live video conversation with strangers is an adult format, and the 18+ rule is not a guideline — it is a condition of using the site. If you are under 18, do not use CafeChat. If you are matched with someone who appears to be underage, end the call and report it right away.

Respectful Interaction

One-on-one video chat works because both people choose to be there. Keep it that way: treat your match the way you would want to be treated, take no for an answer the first time, and never pressure anyone into a kind of conversation they have not welcomed.

Respect runs in both directions. Nobody owes you their time or attention — and you owe nobody yours. If a conversation is not working for you, tap Next. The other person can do the same, and that is exactly how it should be: nobody is ever stuck in a call on CafeChat.

Reporting and Blocking

If someone crosses a line, you do not have to tolerate it. Inside the app you can report inappropriate behavior — harassment, scams, unwanted explicit content, impersonation, or anything else that violates the rules. Reports go to the platform for review and help protect the people who would have matched with that user after you.

You can also block anyone you do not want to be matched with again. Blocking is quiet and immediate: the other person is not notified, and you simply move on. When in doubt, report or block first and continue chatting elsewhere — there is always a next match.

Privacy on Video

Your camera shows more than your face. Before a call, glance at your own preview: mail with your address, work badges, and distinctive views out the window all tell strangers more than you intend. A plain background or a tidy corner of a room is the easy fix.

CafeChat does not display your precise location to other users, but the rest of your privacy is in your hands. A first name is plenty for a conversation. Do not share your phone number, home or work address, financial details, or account passwords — and never read out a verification code that gets texted to you, no matter what reason is given. Inappropriate and Suspicious Behavior

The following are not allowed on CafeChat, full stop:

• Harassment, threats, or hate speech directed at another user.
• Pressuring a match into explicit content or any behavior they have declined.
• Scams of any kind — requests for money, gift cards, crypto "investments," or verification codes.
• Impersonating another person or misrepresenting who you are to deceive someone.
• Any involvement of minors, or any sexual content involving anyone under 18.

If you encounter any of these, end the call and report the user. You never need to confront anyone or explain why you left. For scams specifically: no genuine match will ever ask you for money, codes, or financial details — treat any such request as a red flag, not an exception.

Safe Video Communication Tips

• Check what your camera shows behind you before your first call.
• Keep identifying details — full name, address, workplace, financial info — to yourself.
• Assume anything on camera could be recorded; never do anything you could not live with elsewhere.
• Be wary of urgency: pressure to move to another app, send money, or share a code is a warning sign.
• Use Next freely — leaving early costs nothing and requires no reason.
• Report or block anyone who makes you uncomfortable; it protects the next person too.
• If someone appears underage, end the call and report immediately.
• If a situation involves real threats or extortion, preserve what evidence you safely can and contact your local authorities.
