In short: CafeChat collects only the information needed to run live 1-on-1 video matching and keep the platform safe. We do not sell your personal information. Your camera and microphone are used only while you are in a video call, and you can manage permissions and delete your account at any time.

What We Collect

We collect a small set of information, in three groups:

• Account information. The basic details you provide when you use CafeChat, such as your display name and any profile information you choose to add.
• Device and log data. Technical information your browser or device sends automatically — for example IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps of visits. This keeps the service running and helps us diagnose problems.
• Camera and microphone access. Video calls require access to your camera and microphone. This access is requested by your browser or device and is used only while you are in a live video call.

How We Use It

We use the information above to do two things, and nothing more exotic than that:

• Provide the service. Matching you with another person, connecting your video calls, and keeping your session working smoothly.
• Safety and abuse prevention. Enforcing the 18+ rule, reviewing reports, blocking abusive users, and protecting the platform from fraud and misuse.

What We Don't Do

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not build an advertising profile of you to trade with data brokers. We do not show your precise location to other users, and we do not require you to share a real name, phone number, or address to have a conversation.

We share data only with the service providers that keep CafeChat running — for example hosting and infrastructure providers — and only to the extent needed for them to perform their work for us.

Video conversations on CafeChat are live sessions between two people. Be aware, though, that the person on the other side of any video call could record it with their own device — no platform can prevent that. Treat anything you show or say on camera accordingly, and see our safety page for practical habits.

Cookies

CafeChat uses cookies and similar technologies for the essentials: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and understanding in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it. These are functional and analytics cookies, not a tracking network that follows you around the web.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent some features — like staying signed in — from working correctly.

Your Choices

• Permissions. You can grant or revoke camera and microphone access at any time in your browser or device settings. Without them, video calls will not work, but the choice is always yours.
• Your information. You can review and update the profile information you have provided within the app.
• Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time. Deletion removes your profile and ends your use of the service.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you through the app. Continuing to use CafeChat after an update means you accept the revised policy.
